Bringing Back the Banana Clip

Banana Clip on Natural Hair

There are times when I find myself “over” wearing a puff. I even become tired of a twist out, favorite style, due to the time it takes to twist & untwist my hair.

At those moments, which are usually 30 minutes before I must leave home, I feel pressed to create a quick, but cute, hairstyle.

Instead of resorting to the above tried & true options, I whip out my banana clip.

Applying a banana clip is fairly simple. To start, I add water to the section of my hair I am placing in the clip. Then I smooth my sides and the nape of my neck with gel and lightly brush. With one hand I hold my hair in a ponytail. With my other hand I place the banana clip around the section of hair and snap the clip closed.

If you have thick hair, like myself, it may take a try or two to wrestle it all into the clip. Stick with it! Before you know it you will be a pro and would have added another hairstyle to your repertoire.

When you find yourself in a styling rut give the banana clip a try!

I’m glad you posted this! I’ve been wondering where I could find a good banana clip. I figured it was a good option for my loose hair now, just like back in the day. Thanks, Adrienne!

I <3 banana clips! To make it easier to put in put your hair in a ponytail with a goodie band and then slip the banana under the band and cilp. Pull the goddie band off and volia' slick puff with NO bumps!
