I recently received a question via Facebook asking what products I currently us on my hair.

Honestly, I am not loyal to any one product. Blogging about natural hair care has awarded me the great privilege of sampling tons of difference cleansers, creams and conditioners. It becomes difficult to stick to one brand when I try so many.

However, despite my constant experimentation, I do have a few tried and true favorites that I keep in rotation.

Below are lists of my favorite products, why I like them and links to past reviews.

Jessicurl Hair Cleansing Cream

Miss Jessie’s Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo

I absolutely love both of these shampoos. Each does a great job a clumping my curls & leaving my hair feeling hydrated and soft after rinsing.

Jessicurl’s Hair Cleaning Cream is a natural shampoo and does not contain sulfates. I use it when I have no not used any products containing silicones. Miss Jessie’s Super Slip Sudsy Shampoo does contain sulfates. Therefore, for the sake of not drying out my hair, I use it less frequently.

Jessicurl Too Shea Moisturizing Conditioner

This conditioner does a great job of moisturizing my hair. I especially like its consistency, it distributes well throughout my hair; it’s not too thick but yet, not to thin.

Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment

Miss Jessie’s Rapid Recovery Treatment

Both of these deep conditioners work wonders on my hair. They leave it feeling soft, clumps my curls and, after spending a little time under the hooded hair dyer, helps make my detangling process a breeze.

As with the shampoos above, Weekly Deep Treatment is a natural product while Miss Jessie’s Rapid Recovery does contain some silicones and other less favorable ingredients. When using Rapid Recovery I make sure, on my next washday, that I clarify my hair with a shampoo that contains sulfates.

Design Essentials Defining Crème Gel

I have tried tons of curl definers & gels but Design Essentials Defining Crème Gel works the best for my hair. The product is all natural, no mineral, silicones, etc. and it smells delicious. When using the product my hair is well defined & soft.

– OILS –

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

In the beginning of my natural hair journey I experimented with tons of different oils. But, I found my hair responds best to EVOO, or Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I use a small amount when I untwist my hair & to add sheen; a little goes a long way.
