To give myself a much-needed breather I decided to style my hair in a way that would last a few days. My mind was set on a cute, comfortable, yet functional style. My mind was also set on not spending all day doing my hair so I opted for a simple twisted updo.

I began with freshly washed & deep conditioned hair. I placed it into 5 sections, one large section in the back, a small one in the front, two on each side of my head & a middle portion on the crown of my head.
Starting with the side sections, I detangled with Mizani D’Tangle, and then parted the hair into 3 individual rows for twisting. I then used Design Essentials, Curl Stretching Crème, to flat two-strand twist my hair going upward.

I continued the detangling and upward twisting around my head until I reached the other side. As a disclaimer, I am not a parting or twisting pro; when I reached the back of my head I used a mirror to help with the parting and it took a few tries to get it right.

To complete the style I two strand twisted the front and crown sections of my hair into medium sized twists. The next morning, after allowing my hair to air dry, I untwisted those sections and pulled the front portion back, pinning it to create a beaufont.

This style should last me a few days. Currently, I am on day two. But, I am hoping I make it until Friday. Wish me luck!

Your hair is so lush! Love this style! I wish I could flat-twist around my whole head … looks like I need practice :)
