“Bold Spring” Makeover with Smashbox & Ulta

Adrienne March 15, 2012 1

Yesterday evening I made my way over to Ulta to partake in their 21 Days of Beauty. As luck would have it, it was “Smashbox Day” and I was one of many recipients of a free makeover.

To being my transformation Ulta make-up artist Kristia asked me about my skin and what look I would like to try. Having no place to go, but home, I told her to do as she pleased.

Before beginning the makeover process Kristia applied a Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. The silicone product went on extremely smooth and did a great job of camouflaging some of my problem areas.

After the primer the focus was then turned to my eyes. Normally, when I do my make-up I apply my foundation first and then eye. When I observed Krista doing the opposite I asked why.

Before Makeover

She responded by saying the order in which you apply your foundation and/or eye makeup is completely up to your personal preference. However, she applies eye makeup first to alleviate having to reapply foundation when parts of eye shadow, liners, and mascara fall onto her clients face.

When Kristia was finish dolling up my lids with Eye Shadow Trio in Telephoto she then, with a large powder brush., applied Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder.

Being full of questions, I asked Kristia if the brush makes a difference in the make-up application. She confidently said, the bigger the brush the smoother the powder application.

She was completely correct! After what seemed like only a few swipes of her powder brush, my face was left with a beautiful natural matte finish.

To finish off my look Smashbox Blush Rush in Peony was added to my checks and Honey Be Legendary Lip Stick with a touch of Candy Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss was painted on my lips.

I was extremely please with my self proclaimed “Bold Spring Look.” Kristia did an awesome job and she was super sweet.

Beautiful. Thanks so much for posting these photos–I found this looking for images of the Honey lipstick and now you have a new reader, too.
