Achieving a “Glow” with Ambi Skin Care

I’m sure you all have seen the Ambi Skin Care commercials with America’s Next Top Model veteran Bre.

To be honest, prior to watching the tv spot, a year ago, I had never heard of Ambi. But, after viewing the commercial, and noticing the products on the store shelves, I began to wonder if Ambi could give my skin a “glow” like the spokeswomen in their commercials.

I recently had a chance to give the skin care line try. Will the line slated for women of color help me achieve my sought after TV “glow?” I sure hope so ! Check out my review of the products below. Read more...

Cocktail, Love & 1000 Kisses: Gorilla Perfume is Back!

Several months ago I gave you the scoop on Lush’s Gorilla Perfume. Well, this line of uniquely named scents are back with new fragrances!

Cocktail, 1000 Kisses and Love are three of Gorilla Perfumes new additions. And, like the other fragrances that make up this line, they are said to be “antidotes to boring mass marketed scents.”

In Review: One Love Organics Brand New Day Scrub & Masque

It has been several months since I gave myself a mini facial. So, to get my at home spa treatment started, I decided to try a product I received while attending Pretty City’s Green & Gorgeous event.

A Few Tips: How I Kick My Adult Acne in the Butt!

I struggled through my teenage years with unclear skin & unsightly breakouts. I often thought, “I can’t wait until I get older so my face will clear up.” Well, had I known that in my adulthood acne would still be an issue I would have thought differently.

My increase in age has definitely made me wiser but my skin clearer…not so much.

Carol's Daughter Goddess Flower Body Cleansing Cream Shea Souffle

I have used Carol’s Daughter products but have never given their body care a try. Overall, I have been happy with my results; so, I was expecting to feel the same about Goddess Flower Body Cleaning Cream & Shea Soufflé.

Smells Good: Gorilla Perfume via Lush

Several months ago Lush introduced Gorilla Perfume, a new line of scents. Of course, being made by Lush, these delicious smells are created from raw materials.

Some of the Gorilla Perfume scents include Karma, Orange Blossom, Imogen Rose, & Vanillary. My personal favorites are Lust, Breath of God, & Tuca Tuca.

Unlike some perfumes I have tried in the past these really do seem to last all day. The scents linger but are not overpowering.

Beyond the fact that Gorilla Perfume were created from parts of nature, I find the stories behind each scent fascinating. Read more...

Lemony Flutter: My Heels Never Felt So Good!

While in New York the lovely people at Lush gifted me a few awesome products; amongst them was Lemony Flutter.

Lemony Flutter, a butter like cream, is said to “soften hard skin all over the body, especially the cuticles.” With such great claims I had to put it to the test!

The heels of my feet, while appearing smooth, are quite dry and sometimes even rough to the touch. So, for the past two weeks, morning & night, I have applied Lemony Flutter to my feet to see if it would actually “soften” my skin. I must say, my heels have never felt as soft as they do now!
