Oil Sheen? What Am I Supposed to Do With This?
May 16th, 2012
Adrienne During my relaxed days oil sheen was a huge staple in my hair care arsenal. A day wouldn’t go by without me creating a cloud of shine, before I walked out of the door, around my head.
Now that I have natural hair, the one can of oil sheen I have has been placed in deep dark part of my hair cabinet, never to be seen or used again.
At this point I’m a little perplexed by what I should do with it?
In Review: Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Deep Treatment Masque
May 14th, 2012
Adrienne Cantu Shea Butter recently released a new line of products for Natural Hair. This past weekend I took some time to give their Deep Treatment Masque a try. Check out my review of the product below.
SMELL
The deep treatment has a sweet yet spicy scent. It’s not overwhelming and, in my opinion, is quite pleasant. After rising the smell of the product does fade.
CONSISTENCY
Most deep conditioners have a creamy consistency. However, Cantu’s new Deep Treatment Masque is the thickest product I have ever used. It is almost like a paste.
Hair Break…More Like Hair Pause!
May 10th, 2012
Adrienne I tried; I really did! But, as of this Tuesday my hair break came to an abrupt end.
After seven full days of box braid bliss I had to say bye bye.
There is no way I can deny that I desperately wanted a chic hairstyle to give me a break from my mane. I spelled it all out in this post.
But, when the itching started I HAD to bring it to an end. Thus, my hair break became a hair pause.

Recap: It’s a Natural Hair Thing! A Hair Care Forum
May 7th, 2012
Adrienne Last Tuesday I had the pleasure of participating in the panel for It’s A Natural Hair Thing! forum.
I had tons of fun dishing on natural hair with my fellow Atlanta bloggers, Mae, of Natural Chica, Lexi of Curls Coils & Kinks, and Farrah & KiKi of Mahogany Knots.
We talked about everything from combating dry hair to helping your mate understand and love your natural hair.
Special thanks to Ruydra at Hairston Crossing Public Library for hosting such a wonderful event!
Guess Who Got Their Box Braids!?
May 2nd, 2012
Adrienne Last week I shared with you all my longing for a much needed hair break. I had a strong interest in, traveling back in “hair time” to get some 1993 Poetic Justice-ish braids.
Well, It’s official! I’m all braided up, *does cabbage patch*, and I am LOVING IT!
So, how and where was this done? Well, on Sunday evening I stopped by the beauty supply store and, with the help of Lexi, (I wasn’t sure what colored I needed) picked up 6 packs of Kanekalon Synthetic Braiding Hair.
Poetic Justice circa 1993 Box Braids? Yes Please!
April 25th, 2012
Adrienne Ok, extreme moment of honesty…I’m tired of my hair!
Don’t get me wrong, I love my tresses; but I am over all the washing, deep conditioning, air drying, braiding and so on and so forth.
I need a hair break!
I long for the luxury of not having to wake up each morning and untwist my hair or figure out, after realizing my bonnet came off during the night, how I’m going to style a Gumby fro.
