Adrienne I tried; I really did! But, as of this Tuesday my hair break came to an abrupt end.
After seven full days of box braid bliss I had to say bye bye.
There is no way I can deny that I desperately wanted a chic hairstyle to give me a break from my mane. I spelled it all out in this post.
But, when the itching started I HAD to bring it to an end. Thus, my hair break became a hair pause.

May 7th, 2012 Adrienne Last Tuesday I had the pleasure of participating in the panel for It’s A Natural Hair Thing! forum.
I had tons of fun dishing on natural hair with my fellow Atlanta bloggers, Mae, of Natural Chica, Lexi of Curls Coils & Kinks, and Farrah & KiKi of Mahogany Knots.
We talked about everything from combating dry hair to helping your mate understand and love your natural hair.

March 12th, 2012 Adrienne It has officially been one month since I had my hair colored at Too Groovy Salon. Check out the process here.
Recently, Me, My Hair & the City reader Dana asked how my colored hair was “treating” me thus far. She said:
“I have a question about your hair post dye. Have you found that your curl pattern has changed? How do you keep it hydrated?”
Here’s my response:
My hair’s curl pattern has not changed. However, when bleach is used to lightened natural hair, it is possible for someone’s textures to be compromised.

March 9th, 2012 Adrienne While browsing the web yesterday I came across a recent article by Vogue Italia.
Within the magazine’s online Black Beauty section sat an article titled Natural Hair Trend.
This brief, but interesting, look at natural hair speaks to “the newest pack of Black models storming the catwalk in full embrace of their natural hairstyles.”
It describes how, due to lack of knowledge by some hairstylists, Black models have endured severe damage to their tresses & scalp. The piece also draws a parallel line between, what it calls, the “Black hair craze” and recent upsurge of models sporting their natural hair on the runway.
March 8th, 2012 Adrienne Like many of you, I love the experience of opening brand new hair products.
Something about trying a fresh, never opened, bottle of shampoo makes me all kinds of excited.
On the other hand, there are times when I want to play chemist and whip up my own hair concoctions.

March 2nd, 2012 Adrienne We all have had times when we are less than happy with our hair.
Maintenance can be time-consuming. Hairstyles don’t always come out right. Products don’t always work.
Basically, it’s easy to fall into a rut and become dissatisfied with our mane.
Taking the time to point out, to yourself or others, why your hair is beautiful may seem unnecessary. But, doing so could help reignite the love you may have misplaced for your hair.

March 1st, 2012 Adrienne In Fall 2011 Sofn’free GroHealthy & Sister 2 Sister Magazine conducted the survey Hair Attitudes: Finding Strands of Truth Behind Style and Images.
This hair focused questionnaire was taken by 700+ women who identified themselves as “black, Latina, or bi-racial.”
Questions ranged from “how much money do you spend on your hair per month,” “how many hair products do you use daily”, and what is the biggest determining factor in a woman’s overall look.”
The survey spells out some interesting findings; but what I found most compelling was the similarities between responses from women with relaxed and natural hair.
