Thrift Store Denim Vest

Prints & Vests: Recent Thrift Store Finds

Last Friday, in celebration of my birthday and to calm my shopping itch, I made a special trip to America’s Thrift Store.

My plan was to search for a few Spring separates and, my new obsession, a boldly colored lace dress.

I hit rock bottom on the lace dress, I’m not discouraged – I will find it :) .

However, I did uncover some great pieces to incorporate into my current wardrobe.

What I Bought: My “Pre-Shopping List”

Before heading to Lexi & Danielle’s New Year New You event at TJ Maxx I sat down and made a pre-shopping list to keep me on task.

After enjoying the festivities I started to make my way around the store to find the items on my list.

First up were a pair of red studded leather gloves. The pair definitely fit my “colored leather glove” criteria and I liked the extra “umph” that the studs added but, they were $24.00.

Pre-Shopping List: What Am I Going to Buy At TJ Maxx/Marshalls?

It’s always good to have an idea of what you are looking for or what you would like to buy before going shopping. It helps you stay on task during your shopping trip and, if you stick to your list, not overspend.

On Friday I will be attending a “New Year New You” event at TJ Maxx/Marshalls.

Lexi, of Curls, Coils & Kinks, & Danielle, of The Style & Beauty Doctor orchestarted this awesome event for bloggers in the Atlanta area. I am super excited to meet, greet, and of course, shop!

Kardashian Kollection & UK Style French Connection Outfit

What I Wore Holiday Style: Splurge vs. Steal

Last week I found myself in quite the predicament. I was invited to attend a holiday party but, as usual, I felt as if I had nothing to wear.

Being the bargainista that I am, I headed to Sears to see what I could find for the “low.”

I heard about the Kardashian’s new clothing line, Kardashian Kollection while at Lucky Fabb, and thought, to start my hunt, I would stop by their secton first. To my surprise they had a pair of fabulous pumps on sale for $29.99 (originally $59.99)!

Not only were they fab but they were HOT. With a high heel, slightly rounded toe and for less than $30.00, they had to be mine.

What I Wore: Denim Galore

Here’s the deal, I love denim. Denim dresses, skirts, shirts, pants, vests…you name it! If it’s denim, I most likely have it in my closet.

So when trying to decide what to pair with my $0.99 dark denim shirt it’s no surprise I chose pink denim pants.

But, not just any pink denim pants. I specifically pulled out the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans I snagged at Second Chance Thrift Store, my new fav thrifting spot. They set me back a whole $3.99.

$3.96! : Thrifting Thought of the Day

It has been a while since I combed the racks of a thrift store. So when I felt the thrifting itch come upon me I absolutely had to scratch.

I headed to Second Chance Thrift Store, to do some “light” shopping. Before I could open the door of this fine thrifting establishment my eyes became stuck on a sign that read “blue & green ticketed items $0.99.”

Yes, as you can imagine, I had a conniption of excitement and rushed into the store!

Thrift Store Floral Blouse

Thrifting DIY: Off the Shoulder Floral Blouse

While shopping do you ever find yourself thinking, “that skirt would be cute if it were shorter” or “I wish the strap on this top was thinner; if it was I would totally buy it.”

On a recent thrifting adventure with a co-worker I found myself thinking similar thoughts.

While doing my usual “combing of the racks,” at Second Chance Thrift Store, I found a bright colored floral blouse. I was in love with the print, and the price (it was ½ off $2.99), but for some reason wasn’t wowed by the cut of the shirt.

Thrift Store Accessories

Recent Thrifting Finds: Accessories

During any thrift store visit I always spend several minutes at the jewelry counter. It’s a great place to find classic and unique items to jazz up your wardrobe.

Last weekend I found some great accessories for extremely low prices!

I picked up a gold plated & cream cuff bracelet for $1.99 & a brown acrylic bracelet for $0.30.

Although I find $3.41, for accessories, be a little “high,” I purchased the necklace in the photos because I loved the colors. I guess you have to treat yourself sometimes! :)

Adrienne Brown of Me, My Hair & the City

$18.87 Outfit! Looking Good…Priceless!

I hit the jackpot on a recent trip to America’s Thrift Store in Marietta, Georgia!

In addition to four cute summer dresses, I purchased a purple knee length paisley ensemble.

This dress, which is perfect for a cocktail party or date night, cost $3.88!

I actually wore it, and my $14.99 open toe nude pumps, purchased at Burlington Coat Factory two years ago, to Demetria L. Lucas’ A Belle in Brooklyn book signing.

What do you think about the purple paisley dress? Is it a thrifting hit or a miss?

Pass Along Thrifting: One Women’s Excess is Another’s Treasure

I come from a long line of women who are bargain hunting & thrift store shopping queens. Naturally, several times a year, they purge their finds to make room for more.

On several occasions I have been the recipient of boxes filled with flea market, thrift store, and even designer goodies. Recently I came home to discover a package full of the fabulous handbags below!

I decided to share my gifted haul with you all to encourage the art of “passing along.”
